Ocean Universal in Cairns stocks a solid spearfishing selection. Makes sense — the shop was originally Spearfishing Superstore, so that side of things is still what they're known for.
They've got rail spearguns, camo wetsuits, long-blade fins, low-volume masks, weight belts, floats, dive knives, and take a look general spearo accessories. Gear is chosen for tropical spearfishing — not southern stuff that doesn't suit FNQ.
The name changed to Ocean Universal because the business had already started stocking scuba and freediving gear over the years. But spearfishing gear wasn't scaled down. Spearfishing is still central to what they do.
The team are FNQ spearfishers and know what works on the local reefs.
